On the road again!

Currently, Sue Ray is in the process of packing her bags yet again, as she if off next week to perform at the AMA (Americana Music Association) conference in Nashville TN. It is a very exciting time for Sue, having recently been shortlisted in the prestigious Grant McLennan Fellowhip for 2012, and just last week, stopping to pick up a QMusic award for “Best Indigenous” song with her track “Red Roses”. When it rains it pours, but this is a good thing for Sue. Not to worry, she’ll be retuning to Oz in November to perform at the AWME world music conference in Melbourne and then will be seeing the year out again with some shows at the Woodford Folk Festival. Fun times ahead!

Congratulations to Sue Ray!

June was a wonderful month for Sue. Not only did she get to perform her favorite album – Nina Simone’s “My Baby Just Cares For Me” recently at The Visy Theatre, to rave reviews (see below). She also has been shortlisted in the Grant McLennan Fellowship of 2012. PLUS – two of her songs from her recent album “Red Roses” have been nominated in three categories of the QMusic Song Awards of 2012.

It seems good things come to those who wait.
