Sue Ray will be performing alongside some iconic Australian bands such as Mental As Anything, Halfway, Andrew Morris & Gina Jeffrey’s as part of a great line up of Australian entertainment which is set to rock out in Gayndah, Gatton and Maryborough the weekend of Friday 17th, 18th & 19th May, as part of the Rise and Shine Queensland tour.
Premier Campbell Newman said the Government’s partnership with Queensland Music Festival would deliver musical tours to regions hit by devastating weather earlier this year.
“I invite the local communities to come together to enjoy a free afternoon of family activities, a barbeque and live music,” Mr Newman said.
On Friday 17th May, Australian country stars Gina Jeffrey’s, Sue Ray and Andrew Morris will be performing at Gayndah Showgrounds on Spencer St from 4pm – 8pm.
On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, Rock band Mental As Anything, roots-rock group Halfway, alt-country solo Sue Ray and blues artist Karl S Williams will take to the stage for an afternoon of great Aussie entertainment.
Saturday 18th is in Gatton at the University of QLD campus Gatton College 1pm – 5pm
Sunday 19th May at Maryborough Showgrounds Equestrian Park from 1pm – 5pm.
“It will be the perfect opportunity to take a break, reflect on the year and celebrate the local community spirit.”
Rise and Shine Queensland, which tours to ten communities across the state, is being programmed by Queensland Music Festival, led by Artistic Director James Morrison.
“I’m thrilled we have the chance to send so many wonderful performers to join these communities in their celebrations,” Mr Morrison said.
